Grab the messages
The other procedure to intercept text messages is to extract the poorly encrypted messages. All you need is to install a special firmware on your mobile phone. The firmware will turn the cell into a radio that will capture all (insecure) messages that are transmitted over a certain channel at that time. If you want to intercept messages from/to a specific person than you and your victim must be using the same base station and you will also need some other firmware. Such firm wares are available freely on internet. Depending on your cell phone you will need a serial or USB cable to flash/install the firmware.
Clone the phone
To turn your cell phone into a spying machine all you need is a SIM card reader/writer. These devices are available on a various online shopping websites like eBay. Such devises also come in USB plug and play interface and are easy to use. The difficult part in this technique is that you have to gain access to your victim's cell phone, without his knowledge.
After capturing the SIM all you need to do is to insert it into your reader to copy the SIM information (in technical terms copy the cryptographic key). Cryptographic key is like a password for encrypting and decrypting a text message. Next step is to copy that cryptographic key to your dedicated spy phone. This technique guarantees the reception of messages on your cell. Your victim and you will get identical copies of the messages because the base station will be unable to differentiate between the two clones!

Hi,
I wanted to know if there was a way to clone my own phones? I am not trying to get anyone elses info or anything like that, its for my own personal use. My phones do not have sim cards, I am on verizon and they use something else. Is there anyway to accomplish this?

Is your phone CDMA? Its possible to clone CDMA as well, but its illegal. You have to reprogram the chip to the number of your choice.

What is involved with the actual copy the cryptographic key? Is this just a file, much like a photo or music?
Then moving this to the new card, is there something like a special place that it must reside?

USB interface makes files on SIM browsable. Mostly the files are just kilobytes in size. Now all you have to do is to copy all the files, just like pictures or any other documents. Finally paste it to your desired location and finally to another SIM.
Hope it helps.

my question is the same. as the above. i have a nice cell phone. haha. but i work in construction can i just go to cell company and request a sim card that way i can use old cell for work with out changing sim cards?. (between phones) of corse im not going to tell them this part..

I think if you don't tell your service then they will request a verification of your ID. So that no one can apply this trick to get some one elses' SIM and hence intercept his text messages.
The provider may also block/disable the old SIM card, if you report it to be lost. This is a security check and is implemented to prevent misuse of stolen SIM modules. In the end it all depends on your provider's policies, and the policies and laws may vary from state to state.

Do you have any idea where I can find the firmware to install it on to my phone?

I bought my son a phone with BOOST. I don't think Boost uses a SIMS card. Can this be cloned?

Hello Arcelia!
As far as my information is concerned, BOOST phones use a SIM card. Integrated Digital Enhanced Network (iDEN)technology was developed by Motorola. It operates on 25 kHz channels. iDEN uses following types of SIM chip which offer different memory sizes for information storage:-
Now can iDEN SIM cards be cloned? Theoretically it is possible, as its a chip. I am not sure about the dimensions of iDEN chip, I think it should be same as the normal SIM cards used in GSM. In this case it can be cloned using a device, but be advised, it may be illegal depending on you region.
