Only on Polsat’s channels and services will it be possible to watch all 1,029 matches over three years, 343 in each season, providing a real football feast for fans. The Champions League and Europa League on Polsat’s offer means both a new broadcaster and new, more attractive match times.
From the 2018/2019 season, for the first time, Champions League fans will be able to see more matches, thanks to new match times – on matchday, matches will be played at 6.55pm and 9.00pm (previously all matches were played at one time of 8.45pm). As a result, fans will no longer have the dilemma of which of the simultaneous matches to watch, e.g. Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich or Barcelona vs Manchester United. The Europa League will be shown on Thursdays as before with matches starting at 6.55pm and 9pm.
With the launch of the new channels and premium services, Polsat TV will be able to show all the matches of each round of the Champions League live (8 matches live on matchday, 16 in each round of the group stage).
In addition, there will be 2 permanent new Polsat Sport Premium channels and 4 additional live premium services launched on match dates, all without commercials.
– 1029 games over 3 years, 343 in each season,
– new game times: 6 at 9 p.m. and 2 at 6:55 p.m,
– Each match day means about 8 hours of live coverage – studio and matches,
– new quality of presenting matches – Super HD technology available in all the Cyfrowy Polsat decoders will ensure better quality of picture, presenting more details visible on the screen.

“Our viewers and customers will be able to watch all the matches live and will be able to see more of them thanks to the new match times – at 18.55 and 21.00. We have prepared a comprehensive offer – everyone will be able to watch the matches at any time and place and in the way that is most convenient for them – on the Cyfrowy Polsat satellite platform, on the Internet in IPLA or on mobile devices in the Plus network. Two new channels in the new Super HD quality, additionally four premium services with live matches, some of the matches will be tested in 4K – we are preparing a real football feast for Polsat viewers and fans,” said Maciej Stec, Member of the Management Board of Telewizja Polsat and Cyfrowy Polsat.
The Super HD technology, in which the two new regular channels Polsat Sport Premium 1 and Polsat Sport Premium 2 will be broadcast, will ensure even better picture quality – due to the introduction of twice the bit rate. This is a viewer-friendly technology as it does not require the subscriber to replace the TV set or decoder with a non-HD set. All Cyfrowy Polsat subscribers who already have HD decoders will therefore be able to receive the new channels in Super HD.
“Super HD, as opposed to 4K, is a standard to which all users of our decoders already have access. There is still very little content in 4K, and broadcasting in Super HD does not require changing the equipment in homes. Super HD is becoming a standard e.g. in Italy, and we are convinced that the much better picture will also be appreciated by Polish fans”, said Dariusz Działkowski, Member of the Management Board of Telewizja Polsat and Member of the Technical Board of Cyfrowy Polsat.
Super HD quality requires more bandwidth, but ensures a better picture quality with more details visible in the picture. By maintaining high parameters of the source signal, special selection of compression parameters and a larger transmission bandwidth, the viewer will receive even better picture parameters.
