Scrambling eggs for breakfast is a major culinary feat for most men, but when you want to surprise her with something, it’s better to prepare a romantic dinner.

For dinner for two

Although the world’s best cooks are men, it is by no means an innate ability. Practice makes perfect, so we suggest a few dishes that do not require great sacrifice, but taste great. They also have one great advantage – they rather can not fail ;-)

For a good appetite – tomatoes with ricotta cheese and basil

Ingredients: 4 tomatoes,
10 dag of ricotta cheese,
grated parmesan cheese,
4 leaves of fresh basil and 4 leaves for the stuffing,
1 clove of garlic,
50 ml olive oil,
salt, freshly ground pepper.

Cut the tops off the tomatoes and set aside. Hollow out the flesh with a spoon, salt the tomatoes inside, put them upside down on a platter so that they let go of excess water.

Prepare the stuffing: mash the ricotta with a fork, add grated parmesan, salt and pepper. Grind the garlic with the basil in a mortar, adding some olive oil to make a homogeneous cream, add to the cheese.

Stuff the tomatoes and cover with the top. Place in a heatproof dish well greased with olive oil and put in a hot oven (150 °C) for 40 – 45 minutes. Brush the rest of the basil leaves with olive oil and leave for decoration. Put 2 tomatoes on each plate, decorate with basil leaves and serve with green salad. Be sure to serve lukewarm – neither too hot nor too cold.

For female lovers of Italian cuisine – gnocchi with spinach

Ingredients: 450 g potatoes,
1 egg,
300 g flour,
salt and pepper,
1 kg spinach leaves,
2 cloves of garlic,
olive oil,
four tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese (or: 200g of gorgonzola cheese).

Boil the potatoes in salted water. Drain them and mash, season with salt and pepper. Add egg and flour (in portions), mixing all the time. The mixture should be smooth and not stick to your hands – if it does, add flour. Form thin rolls from the prepared dough and divide them into noodles with a knife.

Valuable note – you can buy frozen ready-made, then the preparation time is reduced to a few minutes.

Wash the spinach leaves, put them in boiling water for a few minutes (if the leaves are large, chop them, but not too finely). Boil water in a large pot and dunk the gnocchi in portions so that they don’t stick to each other. They are ready when they float to the surface. Drain them and mix with blanched spinach, crushed garlic and olive oil. Serve sprinkled with parmesan cheese. If you like thicker sauces, melt gorgonzola in a pan and mix it with spinach and garlic instead of olive oil.

Sophisticated dish – quail eggs with caviar

Ingredients: 8 quail eggs;
can of black caviar (instead of the expensive sturgeon caviar, it can be cheaper, from Atlantic fish, e.g. tasse).

Preparation: 10 minutes.

Put quail eggs in water, hard boil (3 minutes), cool and peel the shells completely or only from the top, cut lengthwise into halves or leave whole. Place a quarter teaspoon of caviar on each half of the egg or use a small spoon to place caviar “caps” on the half peeled egg.

Safe – chicken salad with broccoli

Ingredients: 100 g skinless roast chicken,
100 g peas with carrots,
50 g soybean sprouts (from a can),
2 – 3 iceberg lettuce leaves,
150 g broccoli,
50 g natural yoghurt
teaspoon of mayonnaise
half a teaspoon of honey,
a teaspoon of dried basil,
half a teaspoon of curry.

Broccoli cook semi-hard (4 – 5 minutes). Drain the peas and carrots if they are canned, or cook semi-hard if frozen. Tear the washed lettuce into large pieces, put it into a bowl, add peas and carrots, meat cut into fairly large cubes, sprouts and broccoli. Mix it up. Make a dressing of yogurt, mayonnaise, honey, basil and curry. Pour this dressing over the salad.

Bulgarian cooler – tarator

Ingredients: a glass of kefir,
half a long cucumber,
half a small onion,
2 cloves of garlic,
a teaspoon of olive oil,
a few walnuts,
dill,
soy sauce,
salt, sugar, white pepper.

Preparation: 15 minutes (+cooling).

Wash the cucumber and cut into thin strips. Chop the onion very finely and crush the garlic with a pinch of salt. Coarsely chop the nuts. Whisk kefir with olive oil and possibly with a little cold water (you can replace kefir with yogurt or curdled milk). Add chopped cucumber, onion, garlic, nuts and chopped dill. Season with pepper, sugar, a little soy sauce and salt if desired. This Bulgarian cooler is best when it is very cold.

Original – lemon soup

Ingredients: small onion,
a tablespoon of olive oil,
half a liter of stock from the cube (vegetable or poultry),
lemon,
1 egg yolk.

Preparation: 20 minutes.

Finely chop the peeled onion, put it in a pot with heated olive oil and fry, without browning. Pour the broth into the onions and cook for 5 – 10 minutes. Grate the zest of a scrubbed and scalded lemon, squeeze the juice and add to the soup, cook for a while. Mix yolk thoroughly with lemon peel and add slowly to the soup, stirring constantly. Serve the soup with rice, sprinkled with parsley.

In a flash – breaded dried mushrooms

Ingredients: 10 large caps of dried mushrooms,
egg,
breadcrumbs,
salt, freshly ground pepper,
oil.

Pour boiled water over mushrooms overnight, cook the next day and drain thoroughly. Scramble the egg, season with salt and pepper. Dip mushroom caps in egg, coat in breadcrumbs and fry in hot oil.

Sweets – banana split

Ingredients: 2 small bananas,
4 balls of vanilla ice cream,
teaspoon of butter,
a glass of rum,
1/4 bar of dark chocolate.

Preparation: 15 minutes.

Heat butter in a frying pan and fry peeled bananas cut lengthwise into halves. Sprinkle with rum and heat for a while. Meanwhile melt chocolate in a water bath. Put two banana halves on each plate, place two scoops of ice cream between them and top with hot chocolate (or chocolate topping).
