Google Assistant for Android: Setup and features

What is Google Assistant, how to download and manage it

Not so long ago (in spring 2016) Google presented a novelty – the Google Assistant application that you can download on this page. Initially, only owners of Pixel smartphones could use the online assistant. After some time, the company has improved the application and now the program is available on all Android 6.0 and above.

Installation and activation

Initially, you need to define what it is, in general. Google Assistant is a smart online assistant. Any mobile device running Android 6.0 or higher supports the assistant program. Also, you can get it as part of the Google Search app.

There are two options for activating the app.

The first: If your device has voice control just say “Ok, Google.”

The second way – more traditional: press the “Home” button and the application will automatically start.

To activate the application through your account, you need to:

  1. Press while holding down the “Home” button.
  2. On the screen you will see: “Meet your personal assistant”, tap “Continue”.
  3. Then click on “Yes, I’m in”.

Censored Google Assistant

If you like “live” communication and prefer to call things by their proper names, and you don’t need censorship! You have the power to unlock swear words)

  1. With the “Home” button pressed, start GA.
  2. Open Menu – Settings.
  3. Drop to the bottom of the page.
  4. Click on the “Voice” item.
  5. In front of “Censorship” toggle the switch to “On”.

Despite the fact that you have removed censorship, sometimes the Assistant will hide swearing. But if you swear, the assistant will never use censorship.
