iPhone 13 – reviews and opinions of experts. How did the novelty of Apple perform?

Editors often get equipment a little earlier than other consumers. It would be hard to make them all receive the devices at the same time. Which means that some editors could write reviews faster than others. That’s why big companies put embargoes in place to stop portals from publishing reviews earlier. The embargo on the iPhone 13 has already been lifted. What do the American media think about the smartphone?

iOS 15 – what new features were introduced by the system update?

Models of the iPhone 13 series are now officially available for pre-order. Moments earlier, the devices went to reviewers from major US editors, who were able to use them for a few days to draw their own conclusions. The overall ratings are high. The 13 and 13 Pro models usually receive ratings close to 9/10. No wonder, after all, iPhones are very solid smartphones.

Most often in the context of positive changes is mentioned the battery. This year, Apple has used cells with a larger capacity, which will significantly increase the working time of the device. Cnet reported that smartphones do not have the slightest problem to survive a day on a single charge, even with intensive use of it. On the other hand, the Engadget editor pointed out the presence of the notch, which is 20 percent smaller than last year, but still larger than the competition. The change itself does not affect the daily use of the smartphone. However, it is worth noting that the iPhone 13 does not have biometric security in the form of a fingerprint. So it’s better to sacrifice some space at the top of the screen to get an improved version of Face ID instead.

Editors at The Verge, Cnet, and Engadget agree in that one of the biggest disappointments the new iPhones make is the selfie cameras, which remain unchanged from the previous series. Dieter Bohn also spoke negatively about the new Cinematic Mode. The feature allows you to use portrait mode in videos. According to the editor of The Verge, it is not as “pro” as it should be. The mode primarily performs poorly in low light. Focus can be locked on a particular face, and when the person turns away, it jumps to the next face.

The iPhone 13 Pro is the first Apple device with a 120 Hz refresh rate and the second with ProMotion technology. Using ProMotion allows the refresh rate to automatically adjust to what is currently happening on the screen. This means that when you are watching a movie, the refresh rate adjusts to the frame rate. This can significantly reduce battery consumption. It should be noted here that the iPhone 13 is devoid of this feature. In this case, you can count on a screen refresh rate of only 60 Hz. In addition, Engadget points out that because of this, the iPhone 13 seems to be less smooth than competing smartphones. The same editorial compared the brightness of the screen of the iPhone 13 with the iPhone 12, from which it was supposed to be 28 percent brighter. It turned out that the difference is noticeable, but only if you have a comparison copy in hand in the form of last year’s model.

Overall impressions and reviews match the ratings that the iPhone 13 gets. Everyone agrees that it is a solid device and a valuable phone in the smartphone market. There are many things that the iPhone 13 and 13 Pro are praised for. One worth mentioning at this point is the A15 Bionic processor, which stands out strong against the competition and Apple models from previous years. No one also denies that despite the overall good impression, many things could have been done much better.
