Switch from a window to an application, or why it is worth moving to a mobile bank

Data from the Netbank report commissioned by the Polish Bank Association shows that at the end of last year 19.5 million Poles used online banking. Avoiding queues and not having to leave the house are just some of the advantages of handling finances online. What are the advantages of mobile banking and which of its features may convince skeptics?

Banking applications streamline and facilitate financial management. Quick transfers, withdrawal of money without the need to have a card – these are just some of the conveniences that users can count on. The growing popularity of this segment has attracted the attention of manufacturers – for example, the Huawei brand focused on the availability of banking applications as one of the priorities of the development of its ecosystem. AppGallery, which is part of the Huawei Mobile Services ecosystem, includes more than 120,000 applications, and Polish users will find there as many as eleven applications of domestic banks. What can they be used for?

Formalities without leaving home

Gathering the relevant documents, filling in the application form, and a dozen or so long minutes of conversation with a consultant – until recently this is what submitting an application for a cash loan looked like. Thanks to a banking application this process is not only much simpler, but often does not even require leaving your sofa. With just a few clicks, the user submits the application, adjusting the installments himself, and the necessary amount is transferred to the account on the same day.

Through the application it is possible to apply for credit products, open a deposit, buy a public transport ticket or pay for parking. This is a great convenience that makes life so much easier, so it is worth convincing yourself of the modern solutions.

Numerous promotions

Using mobile banking means that you can also benefit from promotions. Many banks have loyalty programs thanks to which you can get a partial cash refund for paying with a card. These are not the only benefits, as you can often win vouchers or electronic equipment such as smartphones. Such actions usually concern consumers who open a new account in a given bank. For example, under a promotion currently offered by Bank Millennium and Huawei, one can win a gift card and extra cash. New customers of the bank, who between 27 May and 30 June open an account and download the Bank Millennium application, can gain 250 PLN for shopping at huawei.pl. The condition is that at the time of using the card the minimum purchase amount is 300 PLN. Additionally those who will actively use the account in July, August, September and October will receive another PLN 200 to spend on any purpose and PLN 50 in the form of the goodie eCard. The promotion covers the first 1000 accounts. So if you fulfil all conditions of the promotion you can get even 500 zł.

The Bank Millennium application has been available in the Huawei AppGallery since December 2020, and since 25 March it is also available to users of the latest Huawei devices in the version integrated with HMS. This allows users to take advantage of its functionalities, including BLIK mobile payments.

BLIK: where can you use it?

You can use BLIK to pay for purchases in the store and pay for orders made online. Simply generate a code using the mobile application, and then confirm the transaction.

Using BLIK you can also withdraw money without a card or send cash to a phone number. Just generate the number, enter it on the ATM keypad and then confirm the transaction in the app. To quickly transfer money to a friend, simply enter their phone number in the option offered by the app and confirm the transfer, also in the app.

Maximum convenience

Want to manage your finances better? Thanks to notifications in banking applications you can enable information about transactions, card repayment reminder or invoice payment. What is more, mobile banking enables you to buy motor or travel insurance, pay bills with QR codes and block access to payment cards in case of theft or loss.
